Build Your Reptiloid — Gear, Weapons and Shinobi Arts
A closer look at the choices behind your next loadout.
Slots. Choices. Identity.

What you carry should change the decisions you make.
A frontier expedition begins before the airlock opens. You choose what to carry, what to protect and how to answer the first threat. Our latest alpha work gives your reptiloid a more readable loadout: six equipment slots, distinct item artwork and a path from a standard piece of gear to a specialised one.
Six slots. A different way through the frontier.
The Gear screen now separates chest armour, helmet, bracers and legs, alongside two accessory slots. Each destination stays visible even when empty. You can see what belongs there, compare a replacement and choose which accessory you intend to change.

That small change matters. A loadout should be something you can understand at a glance, then inspect when a choice interests you. Filled slots show an item’s name, protection, passive effect and upgrade choices. The interface also explains when an effect is dormant, so a description does not become a promise that the current alpha cannot keep.
Armour and accessories serve different purposes. Armour upgrades improve protection; accessories give you another place to shape your approach. Depending on the piece and its available effects, a choice may reward a confirmed guard, a direct weapon hit or support for nearby eligible companions.
Equipment with a silhouette of its own
The current catalogue contains 51 designs, each with original item artwork. Lamellar plates, cowls, masks, wrapped bracers, prayer beads and tied charms give the equipment screen its own visual language. Jade, bone, slate, amber and cyan tie those pieces back to the frontier.

Our aim is practical as well as atmospheric: you should recognise a helmet among accessories, and distinguish a familiar piece from a new find. The gallery here shows the current icon work, rather than implying that every item has a finished world model.
Upgrade the piece. Choose its purpose.
The console now includes a Gear service alongside weapon upgrades. Owned pieces can progress through Mk I to Mk V. Mk II opens an attunement choice; Mk III opens an inscription; Mk V unlocks the piece’s awakening where its effect is available.

- MK IIAttuneChoose the item’s available direction.
- MK IIIInscribeAdd an unlocked inscription.
- MK VAwakenActivate an available signature effect.

These choices make the item’s conditions important. An effect tied to a timed guard asks you to defend deliberately. A charged-strike effect asks you to commit to the right contact. A companion benefit asks you to pay attention to who is nearby. The interesting question becomes: which behaviour do you want your equipment to reward?
This is still alpha work. Some planned effects need events that the wider game does not yet provide, including certain reputation rewards and first-clearance experience bonuses. The Gear service labels those effects unavailable. Some weak-point effects also await further integration with the game world.
Weapons shape the art
In the current Brute loadout, carrying No-Dachi S unlocks N-stance. Thunder After Silence belongs to the katana H-stance; Snow Woman’s Embrace can answer a hostile strike in H-, D- or N-stance, with its full form in N-stance. Your weapon and stance shape which art you can bring to an encounter.
Two arts. Two moments to act.
Thunder After Silence turns a committed advance into a lightning-and-earth attack. It carries you through a ground dash and strikes enemies you pass. The useful moment is an opening you can cross safely: read the space, choose your line, then move.
Snow Woman’s Embrace asks for patience. Its counter window waits for a real hostile blow, then answers with ice. Stance affects that response. Mistiming the counter gives a weaker outcome, so the art rewards reading an attack rather than simply pressing the button whenever it becomes available.

Shinobi arts in motion
Two current player arts, recorded against the game’s current reptiloid zombies in an isolated development arena. Enemy placement is staged to make the motion and effects clear.

Both arts have stance requirements and cooldowns. Their values are still being tuned. These fresh alpha captures show their current motion and effects in the development arena. Live encounter presentation and balance continue to evolve.
What would you carry?
Our next step is to bring the equipment choices and combat presentation together in live encounters.
Would you build for the blade, the gun or the crew? Tell us which equipment choice or Shinobi art you want to see in the next gameplay demonstration.
